Pretty Pretty
I have to admit something to you right up front here. I’ve based this entire meal, this entire blog post… hell, this entire DAY around cooking something in my new casserole dish.
I brought this dish back in my hand luggage from Holland, where we just spent a wonderful long weekend. I will tell you more about Holland in my next post, but for right now, let’s just take a few minutes to admire the pretty pretty dish.

Ahhhh, so pretty.
So I wanted to use the pretty pretty dish to make our dinner. And, I wanted dinner to be quick and yummy and hot. And, I wanted there to be leftovers that I could have for lunch tomorrow. And, I didn’t want the meal to have any meat. And, I am a total pain in the patootie who thinks that finding the perfect recipe can make my whole day better.
Cue: Baked Lemon Pasta!

It was a tall order, but I think this recipe ticks all the boxes. I’m not going to type out the recipe because I (GASP!) followed it exactly and that blog describes it better than I ever could. I’ve actually been eyeing this recipe for a while, but never got around to making it before tonight. Don’t know what took me so long… it’s lovely. Perhaps I was just waiting for the perfect pretty pretty dish??

That dish would even make a bunch of dry twigs and dirt look tasty!

That dish is so beautiful, I can see how it would be inspirational! And oven-safe too? What more could you ask for? I’m so glad I’m not the only one cramming cookware into my hand luggage….

Do you feel that if you repeat the word, it ‘doubles’ the meaning? If so, maybe ‘happy, happy’ should be the title since you were so excited about this dish.
I also want to point out that the lemon pasta bake was tasty and delicious, and I am shocked and amazed that you followed a recipe, for I know you all to well.

I think it’s more like the Aboriginal language- saying something twice means “lots of” that thing. EX: Wagga Wagga means “Lots of Crows.” Pretty Pretty means “Lots of Pretty!”

Looks great! Hehe I do that too! I made a whole series of cupcakes based on a china set

The only way I could see this being improved (ok, so I haven’t actually tried it, but go with me here…) would be the addition of one of what I call “the barnyard four”. Cow, Pig, Sheep and Chook. Probably chook.
On a tangent – you chose a good time to vamoose from Aus – hottest Nov on record! It’s hot. Hot as… well, you know what it’s hot as…

Oh I am so loving this post!! I can totally believe that you cooked in it the first day home – I would too! In fact, my butter dish now has fresh butter in it and looks almost as gorgeous as your dish! Will send you a pic soon

Gorgeous dish. I love bringing things like that home from holidays too – very difficult to transport, but years of joy to follow!
